The problem as we see it

Software keeps getting better, and people keep studying their tools. Learning servers to put up one site, reading about DNS to connect a domain, recalculating a pricing table because the team grew.

Does the person using this really need to know about this complexity?

No. Carry on with your work.

Being an expert in your own work is enough

Complexity never disappears; someone carries it. We think that someone should be whoever built the tool.

What we hold to

What follows are product standards, not good intentions. So each line carries the reason we set it.

  1. The number of people on your team is not added to the bill. A team isn't a bundle of seats — it's one account sharing one quota. Because growing collaboration should never grow the cost.
  2. Every price is a whole number — $8, not $7.99. On the day you change plans, you only pay for the days that are left. And there are no hidden add-ons you're forced to buy. Because a price should be something you judge by, not something you calculate.
  3. When you get close to your quota, you hear it from us first. You choose the higher plan, not us. Because a bill should be predictable before you open it.
  4. We ask only what sign-up needs, and keep what we collect only as long as needed. Because the surest protection is never collecting it in the first place.
  5. If a service ends, we announce it ahead of time and let you export your data. We don't promise “never.” Because making sure what you rely on doesn't vanish overnight is our job.

What we don't do

  • If you're looking for the cheapest, that may not be us. The goal isn't the lowest price — it's a price you can trust.
  • Choosing the easy path never hands you the weaker feature. Easy is an entrance, not a tier.
  • We don't sell through fear. Protecting customer data is our job, not material for a scare.
  • You won't find unbacked numbers or talk of competitors anywhere on this site.

We may turn out to be wrong

Someday these standards will come under pressure with a plausible business reason attached. So before the standards themselves, we state how they can change — the intent does not change, and the method changes only with a written record of why. A change without that record is not a revision; it is a breach.
